Job Description
Development Manager role is to lead permitting and development activities for CRESS and large-scale solar (LSS) projects through to Commercial Operation Date (COD). This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, fully compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute permitting strategies, roadmaps, and timelines for project delivery
- Lead and manage permit applications, engaging closely with relevant authorities to secure approvals
- Plan and oversee project budgets, resources, and development milestones
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and project stakeholders
- Work closely with TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), off-takers, and other regulators on permitting matters
- Ensure regulatory compliance and license maintenance post-COD
- Build and sustain strong relationships with utilities, regulators, and government agencies
Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in permitting, project development, or commercial roles within Malaysia’s power or renewable energy sector
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Solid understanding of TNB procedures, grid connection requirements, and environmental approvals (e.g., ESIA)
- Experience handling land matters (state, private, forestry, or transmission-related projects)
- Proficiency in GIS tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS
Added Advantage:
- Familiarity with World Bank, IFC, or Equator Principles (EP4) standards
- Established professional network with TNB, ST, IPPs, and other key stakeholders
